Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Ajhodia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ajhodia might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Indestructible. Max Rush has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Ajhodia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Rush!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Ajhodia misses.
A head kick misses from Ajhodia.
Ajhodia throws a nice looking combination but Rush bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rush.
Matt Ajhodia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ajhodia is looking to land body kicks.
Ajhodia throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Rush dodges the punch combination from Ajhodia.
Rush fails with the takedown.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rush fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Ajhodia looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rush shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ajhodia as he avoids it easily.
Ajhodia throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rush's head.
Ajhodia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd cheers as Ajhodia lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rush doesn't seem phased though.
Ajhodia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rush moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ajhodia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Ajhodia, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ajhodia.
Rush tries to clinch but Ajhodia is having none of it.

Rush avoids the body shot from Ajhodia.
Rush dodges the punch combination from Ajhodia.
Ajhodia connects with a jab.
Ajhodia keeps the fight on the outside.
Ajhodia misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ajhodia throws a series of strikes that have Rush backpedaling.
Rush tries to clinch up.

Rush scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Rush is looking for a kimura but Ajhodia is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rush to get the leverage.

Rush is tying to control. Ajhodia wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ajhodia could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rush wants to work for an arm triangle but Ajhodia is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rush looks gassed!

Rush seems to be working for a kimura but Ajhodia defends the submission attempt.
Ajhodia is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ajhodia is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A big left from Ajhodia misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rush gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Rush takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ajhodia lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rush has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rush there as he acknowledges the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Ajhodia dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ajhodia throws a sloppy head kick and Rush moves out of range easily.
Ajhodia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rush moves away.
Ajhodia misses with a double jab.

Ajhodia gets caught flat footed, as Rush shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Rush pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ajhodia is keeping the position for now.

Ajhodia kicks Rush off and gets to his feet.
Ajhodia pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rush looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rush shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ajhodia as he avoids it easily.
Ajhodia closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Ajhodia throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Rush is breathing heavily.
Ajhodia looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ajhodia lands a jab to Rush's midsection.

Rush steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ajhodia.

Rush feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rush thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ajhodia wants to stand and escape but Rush is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rush stays in close to Ajhodia's body and controls the position.
Rush trying to control but Ajhodia is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ajhodia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rush slips nicely into half guard.
Rush trying to mount his opponent but Ajhodia defends it.

Rush is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rush seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ajhodia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rush passes to side control.

Rush is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Ajhodia looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rush gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Ajhodia is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rush lets go of the hold and Ajhodia can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Max Rush!
