Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kid Buu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Apollo Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machida feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Buus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Machida is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Buu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Good leg kick by Machida there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Machida has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Buu gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Machida connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Machida comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Buu takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

and Machida counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A jab from Machida finds it's way through Buu's defenses.
Machida is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Machida works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Machida uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Buu has time to react.

and Buu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Buu is rocked!
Buu gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Machida.
Oh Buu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Machida fakes the leg kick and cracks Buu in the body.
Buu seems to have got his legs back now.
That kick from Machida tenderised Buu's leg. Buu is trying to keep his angry face on.
Donk. Machida catches Buu right on the button with a cross.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Machida paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

and Machida counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Apollo Machida dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Machida drops Buu with a huge uppercut! Buu drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Machida is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
