Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stone Gossard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gossard might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to A Daley BEAT DOWN - NWA. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Stone Gossard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Evans!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gossard misses with a takedown attempt
and Evans cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stone Gossard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gossard takes one to the chin there.
Gossard has his takedown stuffed

and Evans counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Evans prevents Gossard from standing back up.

Evans decides to stand up.
Gossard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Evans.
Gossard lands a nice hook to Evans's body. Evans takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Evans throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gossard shoots and misses

and Evans counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stone Gossard. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Evans throws a strike but Gossard avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Evans gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Evans blocks a head kick by Gossard.
Gossard goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Evans closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Evans throws a hook but Gossard avoids it easily.
Gossard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Evans counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Evans throws a series of punches but Gossard avoids them all with ease.
Gossard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Evans counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gossard's guard now.
Evans throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gossard works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Evans keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gossard's head.
Evans with a flurry of punches that miss.
Evans is looking to work some ground and pound but Gossard has wrist control.

Evans throwing strikes from guard but Gossard blocks nicely.
Evans is in close to Gossard's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Evans loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Evans works over Gossard with some ground and pound from guard.
Gossard preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Evans stands and steps away. Gossard gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gossard moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Evans avoids the head kick by Gossard.
Gossard throws a head kick that half lands.
Gossard looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gossard lands with a kick to the temple. Evans shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Evans takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gossard lands a nice looking body shot.

Gossard shoots in and gets a takedown into Evans's guard.
Gossard throws a strike but Evans rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Evans drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Evans jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans throws a big right hand that misses.

Evans is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Gossard is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Evans is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Gossard is looking to stand up but Evans isn't so interested in that idea.
Evans with a flurry of punches that miss.
Evans throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Evans thows a big elbow that misses.
Evans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gossard swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Gossard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Gossard is looking to stand up but Evans isn't so interested in that idea.
Evans makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Evans missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Evans with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Gossard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gossard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Evans does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Evans manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Gossard gets tackled into the cage by Evans. Evans maintains the clinch.

Evans has clasped his hands together around Gossard's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Gossard is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Evans working the ground and pound but Gossard is defending the strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gossard manages to work his way to half guard, despite Evans's best efforts.
Evans with the ground and pound but Gossard uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Gossard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Evans is controlling him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Evans gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Paul Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Evans decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Gossard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Evans counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gossard won't be happy with that.
Evans has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Evans swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
