PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henderson comes to the cage accompanied by Call On Me - Eric Pyrdz. Kane is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gang of Four - I love a Man in Uniform. Tommy Kane will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henderson throws a leg kick
and Kane counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Henderson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Henderson stands and throws Kane's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kane sneaks back into half guard.
Kane wants to control but Henderson is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dan Henderson.

Kane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Henderson's guard.

Kane is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Henderson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kane looks up at the clock and then as Henderson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kane smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Kane lands a hook that snaps the head of Henderson backwards.

Kane scores with a shot to the side of Henderson's head.
Henderson is trying to break the clinch but Kane is controlling him.
Kane has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Henderson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kane takes a little break here. Henderson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Henderson is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kane is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Let's hope that Kane has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kane wants to control but Henderson is keeping him busy.

Kane is working to tighten is grip on Henderson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Henderson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kane is really squeezing tight and eventually Henderson passes out! Kane breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
