PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dante Auditore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uncle Pansoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Auditore takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Auditore bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pansoy wants to get back to his feet.
The ground and pound from Auditore seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Pansoy sneaks out the side door and pushes Auditore away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Pansoy connects with the punch.
Uncle Pansoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Auditore fails with a takedown attempt.
Pansoy scores with the left hand. Auditore knows he should have avoided that one.
Pansoy misses with a combination

and Auditore counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pansoy!
Auditore is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pansoy regains half guard.
Pansoy wants to improve his position but Auditore is controlling well.

Pansoy wants to get back to his feet.
Auditore trying to control from half guard but Pansoy is working away.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Pansoy tries to get to full guard but Auditore has control of the leg.

Pansoy manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Auditore will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Pansoy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Pansoy wants to control from the top but Auditore keeps moving.
Auditore pulls Pansoy in to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Auditore manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Auditore throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Auditore slaps away a takedown attempt from Pansoy, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Auditore moves into the clinch.
Auditore trying to control the position but instead, Pansoy has worked for underhooks and has pushed Auditore into the cage.

Pansoy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pansoy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pansoy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Auditore moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Auditore shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pansoy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Auditore thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Auditore passes Pansoy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Auditore is controlling the pace.
Pansoy wants to improve his position but Auditore is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dante Auditore will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Auditore throws a low kick, looking for Pansoy's leg but Pansoy calmly moves out of range.
Pansoy turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Pansoy misses with a few strikes there.
Auditore throws a series of punches but Pansoy avoids them all with ease.
Dante Auditore is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pansoy lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Pansoy clobbers Auditore with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Auditore is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Auditore is rocked!
Pansoy throws an uppercut from hell that sends Auditore clean off his feet! He's out cold! Pansoy stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
