Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taka Yoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taka Yoshi!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kelly.
Yoshi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Yoshi throws a lazy head kick
and Kelly connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kelly avoids the head kick by Yoshi.
Kelly connects with a looping right hand.
Yoshi keeps the fight on the outside.
Yoshi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Yoshi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kelly backs up against the cage.
Kelly throws a leg kick
and Yoshi counters with a left and a right that stings Kelly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yoshi checks a leg kick.
Kelly tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Yoshi counters with a good low kick that Kelly was not able to check.
Kelly fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick by Yoshi misses
and Kelly counters with a big head kick but Yoshi shrugs it off.

Yoshi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Yoshi advances to full mount.
Kelly is trying desperately to improve position.
Yoshi is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kelly can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Yoshi breaks from Kelly's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Kelly is looking to get to half guard.
Kelly wants to hold on but Yoshi pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kelly is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kelly bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Kelly is stalling in the full guard.
Yoshi keeping moving, preventing Kelly from controlling successfully.
Yoshi working a defensive guard but Kelly passes into half guard.
Yoshi is not content to let Kelly control the position.

Kelly not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yoshi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kelly is working away from the top position though.
Yoshi is pressing down on Kelly's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kelly accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kelly looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Yoshi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kelly gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kelly working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kelly lands a couple of digs.
Yoshi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Yoshi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Yoshi is trying to keep Kelly in close.
Yoshi looking for a sweep. Not yet Yoshi, not yet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kelly trying to control the position from guard on top but Yoshi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taka Yoshi dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Yoshi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kelly sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kelly tries to clinch up
and Yoshi counters with a thumping low kick.
Yoshi scores with a head kick.
Yoshi throws a lazy head kick
and Kelly counters with a leg kick.

Yoshi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kelly is looking to regain half guard here but Yoshi keeps moving and retains side control.
Kelly manages to work his way to half guard, despite Yoshi's best efforts.
Kelly is pressing down on Yoshi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yoshi with a nice head shot there.
Kelly lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yoshi!
Kelly landing strikes from the mount and Yoshi is in trouble!
Yoshi tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kelly working for a guillotine from mount but Yoshi is in no mood to give up.

Kelly is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Yoshi has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Yoshi!

Kelly looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kelly is on top in guard.
Taka Yoshi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kelly postures up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Yoshi holds on and takes a little breather.

Yoshi is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kelly rolls with it to try and escape but Yoshi cranks on the arm and Kelly is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Taka Yoshi!
