The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Squires shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brashears is trying to defend but Squires finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Squires missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Brashears blocking the ground and pound attempt from Squires.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Squires passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Brashears!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Squires loads up with a big shot that hurts Brashears! He's pulled Squires in close but Squires has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Brashears survive? More strikes from Squires and Brashears is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
