The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

van Heisen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

van Heisen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ridges is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ridges tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
van Heisen trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Ridges slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
van Heisen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ridges is trying to get back to full guard.
van Heisen prevents Ridges from standing back up.
van Heisen wants to pass the guard but Ridges is defending well.

van Heisen decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

van Heisen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
van Heisen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ridges. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ridges regains half guard there - taking advantage of van Heisen's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ridges tries to roll over but van Heisen keeps him under control.

Ridges pushes van Heisen off and gets back to his feet.
Ridges is breathing heavily.

van Heisen tries to keep at a distance but Ridges has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ridges breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - van Heisen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

van Heisen throws a head kick but Ridges moves out of range.
Ridges lands a slapping body shot.
Ridges throws a jab but it's blocked by van Heisen.
van Heisen fails with a takedown attempt.
van Heisen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
A combination from Ridges does no damage.
van Heisen tries to move into range but Ridges moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ridges scores with a nice right hand.
Ridges throws a shot from downtown. van Heisen moves away and avoids it.
van Heisen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ridges.
Billiam Ridges seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
van Heisen fails with the takedown.
van Heisen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ridges paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ridges moves into range and clinches up with van Heisen.

van Heisen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
van Heisen shoots in but no luck this time.
Billiam Ridges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magnus van Heisen.
Ridges lands a slapping body shot.
Nice sprawl there from Ridges as van Heisen shoots in.
Ridges tries to bum rush van Heisen with a series of wild strikes but van Heisen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Crunch! van Heisen slams his shin into Ridges's torso.

van Heisen lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

van Heisen is trying to trip Ridges. He has hold of a leg but Ridges is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. van Heisen persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

van Heisen drops back looking for a leg! Ridges is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ridges manages to kick van Heisen off! van Heisen jumps back into Ridges's guard.

Ridges wants to control but van Heisen postures up.
Ridges is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

van Heisen decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Ridges lands a glancing blow to the side of van Heisen's head.
Ridges ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ridges connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

van Heisen is rocked!
Ridges lands a jab to van Heisen's midsection.

Ridges cracks van Heisen with a left hook right on the temple and van Heisen goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Ridges lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully van Heisen is OK!
