Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire. Barker has chosen The Way of the Fist - Five Finger Death Punch as his entrance music. William Barker is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barker throws a hook but Ross avoids it easily.
Barker scores with a jab. Ross acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Barker works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Ross checks a low kick from Barker.
Barker misses the shot to the body.
Barker misses the body punch
and Ross counters with a nice uppercut.
Ross comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ross throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Barker sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Barker throws a head kick but Ross moves out of range.
Barker takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Barker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barker thows a left - swing and a miss!
Barker avoids the body shot from Ross.

Nice straight punches there by Barker. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Barker.

Ross throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Barker doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ross counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like William Barker has been cut.
Ross misses the body punch
and Barker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ross changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barker tries to avoid it but Ross manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barker to the ground. Barker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Barker feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rosss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

enabling Ross to counter with a crisp jab.
Barker misses the shot to the body.
Barker attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barker throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ross.

enabling Barker to counter with a crisp jab.
Ross has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ross there as he acknowledges the shot.
Barker fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ross.

Ross blocks a head kick by Barker.
Barker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Barker's corner calls for a 1-2. Barker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Barker slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ross misses with a left hand
and Barker counters with an outside leg kick.
Barker scores with a decent looking hook.
Barker feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ross's calf.

Barker scores with a spinning back kick!
Barker dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ross. That did some damage!
Barker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ross shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Barker counters with an inside leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Ross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ross is breathing heavily.
Barker cracks Ross with an open hand slap.
Barker is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ross had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Barker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Barker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barker cracks Ross with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Ross is rocked!
Barker lands a strong strike to the head of Ross. That's dazed him! Barker looking to finish here. Ross is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Barker lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
