PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Leissner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ludacris Feat. T.I.- WIsh You Would. Leissner is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: GoToSleep. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aldo Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Leissner!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leissner misses with a lunging right hand
and Brown counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Gabriel Leissner has been cut.
Brown tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Leissner counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Brown tries to score with a low kick but Leissner moves his leg out of the way.
Leissner misses with a lunging right hand
and Brown counters with a head kick. That will keep Leissner thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Leissner cracks Brown with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Brown throws a head kick but Leissner moves out of range.
Brown moves to clinch but Leissner breaks away
and Leissner counters with a three punch combo that has Brown backing up. Brown nods at Leissner to acknowledge the strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Brown tries to clinch up
and Leissner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Leissner motions for Brown to come forward. Leissner throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brown ducks under a wild hook from Leissner.
Leissner with a nice cross.
Leissner stalks Brown and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Brown's face. Brown staggers backwards, shaken.
Leissner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Leissner takes a swing at Brown's ribcage but misses.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Leissner's corner calls for a 1-2. Leissner obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Brown wants to clinch
and Leissner counters with a straight right hand.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Brown tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Leissner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aldo Brown dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Leissner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Leissner thows a body shot but no joy.

A left and a right from Leissner both land. Nice combination.
Brown closes the distance looking to clinch
and Leissner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Leissner jabs Brown right on the nose. Brown blinks but takes it well.
Brown wants to clinch but Leissner slips to the side
and Leissner counters with a good low kick that Brown was not able to check.
Aldo Brown is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Leissner lands a really nice looking cross but Brown seems unphased.
Leissner throws a looping overhand right but Brown ducks down to avoid it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Leissner lands a head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Leissner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Leissner throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Brown on the side of the head.
Leissner clobbers Brown with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Leissner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

and Leissner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Leissner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brown stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Leissner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Brown thinking.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

enabling Leissner to counter with a crisp jab.

Gabriel Leissner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Leissner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
