Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michal Materla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reem Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reem Overeem will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Overeem takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Materla shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Materla showed some decent athleticism there.
Materla looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Materla is keen to just control but Overeem is a slippery customer.

Materla is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Overeem sees it coming and defends easily.

Materla seems to be working for a kimura but Overeem defends the submission attempt.

Materla goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Overeem turns into him and now he's in Materla's guard.

Materla tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Overeem avoids it.

Materla pushes Overeem back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Materla breaks the clinch.
Reem Overeem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Overeem gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Materla to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Materla drops back looking for a leg! Overeem is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Overeem manages to kick Materla off! Materla jumps back into Overeem's guard.
Overeem wants to stand but Materla is controlling the position.
