Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kanbei Shimada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hideo Toyoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimada comes into the arena with Party and Bullshit blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimada tries to score with a low kick but Toyoku moves his leg out of the way.

Shimada has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Toyoku finds it's way round the side to connect with Shimada's head.

Shimada ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Toyoku moves away.

Shimada throws a hook but Toyoku avoids it easily.
Toyoku ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shimada moves away.

enabling Toyoku to counter with a crisp jab.
Toyoku swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Hideo Toyoku is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Toyoku throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Shimada tries to clinch there but Toyoku circles away.
Shimada steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Toyoku.
Toyoku will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Toyoku swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Shimada moves into the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Toyoku wants to control from the top but Shimada keeps moving.
Toyoku must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Toyoku is looking to take a break and control but Shimada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Toyoku creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Shimada sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Shimada is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Toyoku's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Shimada gets full guard.
Shimada escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Toyoku gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Toyoku postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Toyoku drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shimada looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shimada looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shimada!
Shimada tries to score with some ground and pound. Toyoku controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Toyoku is not content to let Shimada control the position.
Toyoku tries to buck Shimada off but Shimada is having none of it.
Toyoku is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Shimada fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Shimada throws a strike aimed at the side of Toyoku's head but Toyoku avoids it well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shimada has hold of Toyoku's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Toyoku tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Shimada cranks the arm and Toyoku screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Toyoku, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
