The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeshi scores with a jab.
Smash Ya lands with a nice body punch.

Takeshi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Takeshi looks to clinch
and Smash Ya counters with a stiff right hand.
Ryuu Takeshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takeshi has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Smash Ya finds it's way round the side to connect with Takeshi's head.
Takeshi dodges the punch combination from Smash Ya.
Takeshi shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Takeshi misses with the body kick
letting Smash Ya counter with a right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smash Ya uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Smash Ya scores with a hook to the body. Takeshi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Takeshi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Smash Ya.

and Smash Ya makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Takeshi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Takeshi tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Smash Ya counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Smash Ya counters with a right hand to the body.
Takeshi looks gassed!
Takeshi misses with a leg kick
and Smash Ya counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Takeshi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Smash Ya connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Takeshi scrambles back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Smash Ya counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Takeshi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and Smash Ya counters with a right hand to the body.
Smash Ya throws a series of punches but Takeshi avoids them all with ease.

Takeshi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Smash Ya moves into range and connects with a jab.
Smash Ya cracks Takeshi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Smash Ya lands a lovely overhand right.
Smash Ya misses with a low kick.
Takeshi wants to clinch but Smash Ya slips to the side
and Smash Ya counters with a stiff right hand.
Smash Ya is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Takeshi.
Takeshi walks into a stiff left hand from Smash Ya.
Smash Ya throws out a loose jab but Takeshi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smash Ya takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Takeshi tries to clinch but Smash Ya moves away
and Smash Ya counters with a nice uppercut.
Smash Ya clobbers Takeshi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Takeshi throws a lazy uppercut
and Smash Ya counters with a lovely shot to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Smash Ya darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Takeshi misses with a body shot

and Smash Ya counters with a nice right hand that sends Takeshi toppling to the canvas! Takeshi scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Smash Ya finish him?!

Takeshi is rocked!
Smash Ya closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Takeshi out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
