Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joey Tribianne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Cena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that John Cena was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cena defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tribianne.
Cena feints and as Tribianne raises his hands in defense, Cena changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cena controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cena decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tribianne, up you get!
Tribianne shoots in for a takedown but Cena shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Tribianne.
Cena can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cena has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tribianne uses from the top position.

Cena slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

and Cena counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cena.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cena stays in close to Tribianne's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cena gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cena fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tribianne.
Tribianne wants to clinch up but Cena keeps it at a distance.

John Cena showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Joey Tribianne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Cena.
Cena takes a kick to the side of the head.
Tribianne changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cena looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cena throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Cena is looking to regain half guard here but Tribianne keeps moving and retains side control.
Tribianne wants to control but Cena is keeping him busy.
