Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ice Lander!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiihonen misses with a body shot
and Lander counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Lander lands a nice shot to the body.
Lander slips under a jab from Tiihonen.
Lander jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Tiihonen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tiihonen is staying tight to Lander's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Lander regains half guard there - taking advantage of Tiihonen's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Tiihonen is working for a submission of some sort.
Tiihonen is keen to just control but Lander is a slippery customer.
Lander is looking to improve his position.
Tiihonen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lander keeps working.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lander can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lander wants to control but Tiihonen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lander moves into full guard.
Lander looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tiihonen is one step ahead there.
Tiihonen works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Tiihonen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tiihonen is thwarting Lander's attempts to control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tiihonen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lander is just riding it out for now. Tiihonen eventually gives up the hold.

Tiihonen wants to work for an arm triangle but Lander is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Tiihonen seems to be working for a kimura but Lander defends the submission attempt.
