Coming up we have a featherweight bout between Junior Lessard and Teppo Tuhkasaari. Lessard comes to the cage accompanied by Dexter - Intruder. Tuhkasaari has chosen Proteus - Full Metal Jacket as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tuhkasaari with a poor takedown
and Lessard counters with a nice uppercut.
Lessard lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Tuhkasaari moves out of range of the body kick from Lessard.
Lessard throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Tuhkasaari counters with a nice leg kick.
Tuhkasaari on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Lessard avoids a kick to the body.
Lessard throws a right and a left that Tuhkasaari avoids nicely.
Tuhkasaari misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tuhkasaari takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Some wild striking there from Lessard.
Lessard misses with a left hand

and Tuhkasaari counters with a takedown into side control.
Lessard is not content to let Tuhkasaari control the position.
Lessard prevents Tuhkasaari from improving position.

Lessard is looking to reverse the position.
Tuhkasaari works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Tuhkasaari controls the position from side control.

Lessard is looking to regain half guard here but Tuhkasaari keeps moving and retains side control.

Lessard is squirming around, avoiding Tuhkasaari's attempts to control the action.
Tuhkasaari has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tuhkasaari is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Lessard is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Lessard flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Tuhkasaari anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Lessard and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Tuhkasaari slips an arm under Lessard chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Tuhkasaari has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Tuhkasaari is squeezing on Lessard like an anaconda would it's prey. Lessard fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Teppo Tuhkasaari! Teppo Tuhkasaari retains his featherweight title!
