Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Balls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Maximus Meridius has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Maximus Meridius seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meridius shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Balls as he avoids it easily.
Meridius tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Balls swivels and escapes.
Nice takedown defense from Balls. No joy for Meridius on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maximus Meridius. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Meridius shoots in looking for a takedown. Balls tries to sprawl out of it but Meridius keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Balls manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Meridius has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Balls can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Balls really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meridius. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Meridius is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Balls has his hands clasped together but Meridius extends an breaks Balls's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Meridius.
