Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rich Granderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George St Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

St Pierre drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Granderson wants to control but St Pierre postures up.

St Pierre goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Granderson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in St Pierre's guard! Nice work there by Granderson!

Granderson throws a strike but St Pierre rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

St Pierre drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Granderson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now St Pierre has Granderson in his guard.

St Pierre postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Granderson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of St Pierre, into his guard.

Granderson drops back, looking for a kneebar! St Pierre looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. St Pierre looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from St Pierre!

St Pierre is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Granderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Granderson enables St Pierre to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Granderson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

St Pierre has gone for a leg lock! Granderson slips out almost immediately though and dives into St Pierre's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

St Pierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and St Pierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

St Pierre tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no St Pierre has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

George St Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



St Pierre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

St Pierre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Granderson, who protects the arm well.

St Pierre is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Granderson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

St Pierre goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Granderson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for St Pierre but great work by Granderson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

St Pierre is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Granderson looks calm but he's in trouble here. St Pierre gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Granderson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! St Pierre lets go of the hold and Granderson can pop his arm back in it's socket.
