Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cain Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

enabling Logan to counter with a crisp jab.

and Velasquez counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Paul Logan has been cut.

Logan is looking to take a break and control but Velasquez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Logan is breathing heavily.

Logan is working for a kimura but Velasquez is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

and Logan counters with a shoot takedown. Velasquez fights it but they end up in guard.

Velasquez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Logan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Loganis looking to pass into half guard but Velasquez pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Velasquez is in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Logan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Velasquez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Velasquez rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Logan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Logan throws a big right hand that misses.
Logan wants to stand and escape but instead Velasquez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Logan keeping moving, preventing Velasquez from controlling successfully.
Logan looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Velasquez puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Logan trying to hold on to Velasquez's head to control him but Velasquez postures up.

Logan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Velasquez pulls his head out easily.
Logan is staying active underneath Velasquez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Velasquez is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Velasquez scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Velasquez looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cain Velasquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Logan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Velasquez advances to half guard.
Velasquez is trying to control the action in half guard but Logan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Velasquez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Velasquez winds up and cracks Logan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Velasquez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Velasquez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Velasquez wants to take a breather but Logan is having none of it.

Velasquez seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Logan is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
