Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kendrell Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trip Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 2-Pac (Hit Em Up). Kendrell Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Johnson enables Hammer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Johnson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hammer throwing strikes but missing.
Hammer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Johnson is pulling down on Hammer's head. It's preventing any offense from Hammer, at least for the moment.
Hammer looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hammer is working for a guillotine from mount but Johnson frees his head quite easily.

Hammer swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Johnson is now in Hammer's guard. A big mistake from Hammer there, giving up the dominant position!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnson is really struggling to control Hammer but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hammer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kendrell Johnson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hammer swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hammer swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That was a close round but I would say that Kendrell Johnson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Johnson wants to free his trapped foot but Hammer is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hammer makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hammer.

Hammer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Hammer is retaining full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hammer postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Hammer fights it but they end up in guard.
Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hammer is proving hard to escape from.

Hammer wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
Johnson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hammer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hammer on the ground.

Hammer is looking to sinch up a triangle. Johnson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hammer's body to avoid the submission. Hammer has instead reached around Johnson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hammer arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
