PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gracie Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrance Pingshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pingshaw has chosen Heart of a Champion as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gracie Jitsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terrance Pingshaw!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pingshaw doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jitsu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gracie Jitsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jitsu. That's going to slow Pingshaw down.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jitsu, right into the meat.
Pingshaw chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jitsu can pounce on him.
A chopping leg kick lands by Jitsu.
Pingshaw blocks a low kick nicely.
Jitsu swings for the body but Pingshaw moves out of range.
Jitsu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pingshaw has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jitsu throws a quick inside leg kick.
Jitsu misses with a low kick.
Jitsu missing with a left hand there. Pingshaw was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Pingshaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jitsu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pingshaw paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pingshaw shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pingshaw was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Pingshaw is working for a guillotine from mount but Jitsu frees his head quite easily.

Pingshaw wants to finish this one by submission but Jitsu is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pingshaw.

Pingshaw swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Terrance Pingshaw!
