Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Pan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hioshido Tamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hioshido Tamada has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Pan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hioshido Tamada!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pan tries to clinch but Tamada is having none of it.

and Tamada cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Tamada has managed to clinch.
Pan lands a knee to the head.
Tamada is working for takedown but Pan is calmly controlling the position for now.

Pan with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Pan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Tamada turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tamada manages to end up in side control.
Pan is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Pan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pan is looking to regain half guard here but Tamada keeps moving and retains side control.

Tamada tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Tamada decides to stand back up. Tamada steps back and let's Pan get back to his feet.
Pan wants to clinch.
Tamada misses with a takedown attempt
and Pan counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Pan gets tackled into the cage by Tamada. Tamada maintains the clinch.

Pan has Tamada pressed against the cage, preventing Tamada from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Tamada wants to get back to striking at distance but Pan won't allow it.

Tamada breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tamada avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Pan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tamada blocks it with crossed arms.

Tamada wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pan keeps working.
Tamada gets to mount! Pan was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hioshido Tamada dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Tamada throws out a leg kick but Pan moves out of range and Tamada only half commits.

Pan digs a right hand underneath Tamada's ribcage. Tamada let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Tamada tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Peter Pan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hioshido Tamada.

Tamada ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tamada no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Pan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tamada on the ground.
Pan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Pan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pan wants to get up but he can't break Tamada's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tamada manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Tamada takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Tamada has control of Pan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pan regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Tamada prevents Pan from getting the reversal.
Pan wants to control but Tamada is having none of it.

Tamada goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pan turns into him and now he's in Tamada's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Pan dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Tamada drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pan trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Tamada wants to take a breather but Pan is having none of it.

The fighters are battling for position here. Pan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Tamada controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Pan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tamada trying to control but Pan is working from the bottom.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Hioshido Tamada has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Pan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pan moves to clinch but Tamada breaks away

and Tamada counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Pan has momentary wrist control but Tamada slips an elbow through the middle.

Tamada is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Pan wants to sweep here but Tamada controlling him for the moment.
Hioshido Tamada has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tamada looking to pass the guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Pan wants to get back to his feet but Tamada passes into half guard.
Tamada content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tamada trying to control the action but Pan is working from the bottom.
Pan is trying to stand.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hioshido Tamada wasn't active enough on the ground.
Pan wants to clinch but Tamada slips to the side

and Tamada counters by moving into the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hioshido Tamada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Tamada has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
