Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Scott Summers!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers slips under a jab from Hirai.

Hirai throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Summers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hirai is in Summers's guard.
Summers can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hirai controls the pace.

Summers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hirai can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hirai pushes down on Summers's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hirai works his foot free and advances to mount.
Summers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hirai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Summers is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Hirai in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Hirai jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Summers manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Summers manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Summers is looking to take a break and control but Hirai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hirai makes his way to full guard, as Summers worked for a kimura.
Hirai looking to hit a scissor sweep but Summers is one step ahead there.
Hirai trying to keep a closed guard but Summers is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hirai managing to control the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hirai looking to hit a scissor sweep but Summers is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hirai manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hirai punishing his opponent with strikes.
Hirai has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Summers's face.
Hirai landing strikes from the mount and Summers is in trouble!
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Hirai! Summers is out cold! This one is all over!
