Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Craig Whitehead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Space Bound. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris fails with the takedown
and Whitehead counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Whitehead counters with a three punch combo that has Harris backing up. Harris nods at Whitehead to acknowledge the strikes.

and Harris counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Whitehead is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Harris has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Whitehead is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Whitehead gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Whitehead gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Whitehead apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Harris misses with a takedown
and Whitehead cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Craig Whitehead has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerome Harris.
Harris closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Whitehead is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Whitehead had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Harris defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Harris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Whitehead counters with a right hand to the body.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Whitehead enables Harris to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Whitehead manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Whitehead looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Harris is defending well. Whitehead quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Harris has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Whitehead celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
