Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Big Hurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Skjelbred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Big Hurt has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Big Hurt seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurt throws a combination. Skjelbred tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like John Skjelbred has been cut.

Hurt pushes Skjelbred up against the cage in a clinch.
Hurt works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Skjelbred drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hurt gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Skjelbred turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hurt manages to get back to half guard.
Hurt wants to improve his position but Skjelbred is controlling well.
Hurt moves into full guard.
Hurt pulls Skjelbred in close to his closed guard and prevents Skjelbred from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hurt keeping full guard, as Skjelbred tries to pass.
Skjelbred won't allow Hurt to sweep him here.

Skjelbred looking to improve position, pressing down on Hurt's thigh with his hand. Hurt seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Skjelbred paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Skjelbred's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Hurt picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
