Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei Baduk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Garland Oars!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oars showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Baduk.
Oars chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Baduk can pounce on him.
Oars avoids a punch combination nicely.
Oars connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Baduk momentarily.


It looks like Sergei Baduk has been cut.
Baduk swats away the attempt to clinch by Oars.
Baduk misses with a takedown

so Oars counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Oars missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Oars is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Baduk not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Oars looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oars is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Oars drops back looking for a leg! Baduk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Baduk manages to kick Oars off! Oars jumps back into Baduk's guard.
Oars makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Oars wants to control from the top but Baduk keeps moving.
Baduk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Oars.
Oars wants to pass the guard but Baduk is keeping the position.
Oars is stalling in the full guard.
Baduk keeping moving, preventing Oars from controlling successfully.
Baduk can't keep his opponent in guard - Oars advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Oars drops back looking for a leg! Baduk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Baduk manages to kick Oars off! Oars jumps back into Baduk's guard.

Oars thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Baduk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Oars trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Oars throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Baduk looking to control.
Oars with a nice head shot there.
Oars advances to half guard.
Oars lands with a punch from half guard.
Oars wants to pass to mount but Baduk is defending the position.
Oars has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oars prevents Baduk from standing back up.
Oars tries to pass to full mount but Baduk defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garland Oars dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sergei Baduk's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Baduk thumps Oars with a low kick.
Oars missing with a left hand there. Baduk was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Oars ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Baduk fails to land with a series of punches.
Baduk tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Baduk throws a sloppy head kick and Oars moves out of range easily.

Baduk throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sergei Baduk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oars keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Baduk.
Baduk throws a head kick that half lands.
Baduk thows a body shot but no joy.
Baduk circles away from the clinch attempt.
Oars throws a lazy uppercut
and Baduk counters with a big head kick but Oars shrugs it off.
Oars showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Baduk.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circling - Oars throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Oars tries to clinch but Baduk moves out of range.

Oooooh!!! Baduk has knocked Oars down with a huge combo! Baduk steps away and waves a wobbly Oars back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oars misses with a lunging right hand
and Baduk counters with a slapping leg kick.
Oars thows a body shot but no joy.
Baduk keeps the fight on the outside.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oars throws a big shot that misses.
Baduk lands a nice looking body shot.
Oars is breathing heavily.

Baduk lands a big head kick that sends Oars tumbling to the mat! Baduk takes a step backwards and waves Oars back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Oars is rocked!


It looks like Garland Oars has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oars backs away from a small jab...but Baduk lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Oars crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Baduk with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Sergei Baduk!
