Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Konina Ot Overima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Konina Ot Overima could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Fedor Emelianenko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overima shoots in looking for a takedown. Emelianenko tries to sprawl out of it but Overima keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Emelianenko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Overima counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Emelianenko is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Emelianenko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Overima lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Emelianenko down.

Overima seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Emelianenko for as long as he can get away with.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Overima, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
