The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruanti takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Rampage counters with a straight right hand.
Rampage ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ruanti moves away.

Rampage feints and as Ruanti raises his hands in defense, Rampage changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rampage wants to pass the guard but Ruanti is keeping the position.
Rampage stands and throws Ruanti's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ruanti is trying to improve his position.
Ruanti gets back to half guard.
Rampage wants to pass to mount but Ruanti is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rampage stops Ruanti from getting back to his feet.
Rampage wants to advance to full mount but Ruanti doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Ruanti fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rampage has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Rampage takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ruanti buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ruanti lands a jab to Rampage's midsection.
Rampage shoots in for a takedown but Ruanti shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rampage checks a leg kick.

Rampage is breathing heavily.
Rampage's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ruanti connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rampage scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Kyle Rampage has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
