Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robb Spewak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rad Thibodeaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spewak comes to the cage accompanied by The German National Anthem. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robb Spewak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rad Thibodeaux !
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spewak bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Spewak tries for a kimura but Thibodeaux is defending well.
Spewak wants to control but Thibodeaux is keeping him busy.

Spewak is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thibodeaux knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Spewak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Spewak tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Spewak has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Spewak swings around for an armbar but Thibodeaux sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Spewak's guard.

Spewak is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thibodeaux defends well.
Spewak is looking to stand up but Thibodeaux isn't so interested in that idea.

Thibodeaux wants to stand and escape but instead Spewak has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thibodeaux wants to stand up but Spewak is controlling him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Thibodeaux can't keep his opponent in guard - Spewak advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Spewak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Spewak looks to land a strike but Thibodeaux avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Spewak is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thibodeaux is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thibodeaux has escaped and now he's on top!

The fight stays on the outside here - Thibodeaux looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Spewak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thibodeaux can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
