PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murilo Ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Czech (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruas comes into the arena with Wham! Freedom blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruas tries to clinch but Czech moves away
and Czech counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Murilo Ruas has been cut.
Ruas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Czech misses with a body punch

and Ruas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Czech!
Czech gets back to half guard.
Czech desperately trying to maintain half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ruas looking for a sweep. Not yet Ruas, not yet.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Ruas is looking for a triangle but Czech pushes his legs off easily.

Peter Czech has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ruas.

Czech throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ruas on the side of the head.
Ruas takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Ruas moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ruas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Czech counters with a crisp right hand that drops Ruas! Czech lets Ruas back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Murilo Ruas's cut is getting worse.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Murilo Ruas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Czech drops Ruas with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ruas looks back up at him and smiles so Czech waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Czech changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Ruas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Czech's corner calls for a 1-2. Czech obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Czech throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ruas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Czech cracks Ruas with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Czech has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ruas to stand back up!

Czech fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Czech comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ruas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Czech lands a big right hand that sends Ruas crashing to the mat! Czech stays standing though and waves Ruas back to his feet!
Oh Ruas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jeez, Murilo Ruas's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Murilo Ruas's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
