Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metzger uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Friedhelm.
Friedhelm scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Metzger doesn't seem bothered though.
Metzger throws a leg kick but Friedhelm moved away.
Friedhelm wants to clinch up but Metzger keeps it at a distance.
Friedhelm shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Metzger but Metzger pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Friedhelm has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Metzger can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Metzger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Friedhelm has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Metzger has managed to get both his arms back between Friedhelm's legs - danger averted.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Friedhelm shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Metzger sprawls well. Metzger wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Friedhelm gets slowly back to his feet.

Friedhelm chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Metzger can pounce on him.

and Metzger counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Friedhelm shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Metzger's guard.

Metzger seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Friedhelm lands a nice hook to Metzger's body. Metzger takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Karlmann Friedhelm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Friedhelm tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Metzger swivels and escapes.

Friedhelm drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Friedhelm jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Friedhelm stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Metzger swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Metzger holds on and takes a little breather.
Metzger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Friedhelm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
