PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drasek Riven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerard Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Raising the Bar kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Drasek Riven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gerard Jones!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Riven misses with a left hand

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch.
Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Riven's efforts to push away.
Riven tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Riven drops back down to his feet.
Jones using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Riven has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Riven is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Riven breaks from the clinch.

Riven is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard.

Riven is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones is looking to escape.
Riven stalling.
Riven has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Riven seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.
Riven is pressing down on Jones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jones is holding on for now.
Riven slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Drasek Riven.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
A jab from Riven misses.
An inside leg kick from Riven misses.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Riven is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea.
Riven gets back to half guard.

Riven lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones!

Riven throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Jones has his hands clasped together but Riven breaks the hold and Jones is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Riven!
