Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chin Po (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierce Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Po's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, TURBO. Chin Po has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Russell throws a jab but it's blocked by Po.
Po throws a jab when Russell was well out of range.
Russell misses with a looping right.
Po on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Po dodges the punch combination from Russell.

Po misses with a lunging right hand
and Russell counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Russell throws a nice looking combination but Po bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Russell moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Russell fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Po on the side of the head.
Po takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Po has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Russell lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

and Po counters with a nice body shot.
Po really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Russell is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Po had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

No joy there for Russell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Russell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Po stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Russell moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Po tries to score a power double leg takedown but Russell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Po somewhat.
Po walks into a straight right hand from Russell.

Po looks to land a left hand but Russell moved out of range nicely.

Russell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Russell.
Russell stuffs the takedown attempt from Po. Po gets slowly back to his feet.
Po drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Russell throws a left and a right that both miss
and Po connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Russell misses with a right hand
and Po counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Russell, as that shot connected.
Po shoots for a double leg takedown but Russell sprawls well. He's pushed Po's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chin Po. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Po tries to move into range but Russell moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Russell connects with a right hand. Po shakes it off.
Po misses with a body shot
and Russell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jab, jab by Po - just one landing.
Po waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Russell.
Po has a takedown stuffed.

Russell ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Russell goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Po counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Russell counters with a one-two to the body.

Po just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Russell loads up on a big right hand but Po slips the punch.
Po takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Po throws a body punch but Russell moves out of range.
Russell takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A jab lands there for Russell.
Pierce Russell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Po misses with a right hand
and Russell counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Po shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Russell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Po lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Russell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Po is one step ahead there.
Po tries to free his leg and advance position but Russell is retaining full guard.
Po looking to sit in guard and control but Russell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Russell is fighting to break Po's control of his arms but Po is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Russell is trying to control. Po wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Po is trying to get back to full guard.
Po keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Russell misses with a head shot. Po uses the momentum to regain guard.
Po has Russell pulled in close to control his posture.
Po will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Po utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Pierce Russell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Russell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Po closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Russell quickly recovers to half guard.

Russell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Russell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Po passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Russell!

Po is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Russell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
