Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silvas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rheyder Abud!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silvas moves into the clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Silvas.
Abud misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Silvas.
Silvas tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Abud just stands there and leans against the cage.
Abud looking to throw knees to the head but Silvas is blocking nicely.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Abud as Silvas tries to tie him up.

Abud breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silvas has a takedown stuffed.
Abud throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Anderson Silvas has been cut.
Abud tries to clinch
and Silvas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Abud wants to clinch

and Silvas counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Silvas.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Abud throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Abud stalls.
Abud prevents Silvas from breaking the clinch.
Silvas wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Silvas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Abud breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silvas wants to clinch up but Abud keeps it at a distance.
Abud stuffs the takedown attempt from Silvas. Silvas gets slowly back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Silvas instigates a clinch.

Silvas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silvas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Abud wants to stand but Silvas has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Silvas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abud doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Silvas is tightening it up a little... Abud has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Abud reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Abud taps out! nice BJJ there by Silvas!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Anderson Silvas!
