PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zachariah Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franz Ritter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ritter is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by All Along The Watchtower. Franz Ritter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wayne looks to score with a jab to the body but Ritter is just out of range.
Wayne bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Wayne misses the body punch
and Ritter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wayne defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ritter.
Ritter moves out of range of the body kick from Wayne.
Ritter avoids the head kick by Wayne.
Wayne misses with a lunging right hand

so Ritter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wayne pulls Ritter in close to prevent any damage.
Ritter showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Ritter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Franz Ritter has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Wayne throws a nice outside leg kick.
Ritter moves forwards but Wayne connects with a nice, crisp jab.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ritter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Ritter tries to stand but Wayne controls the position and pulls Ritter into his guard.

Wayne is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ritter is aware though and is defending well.

Let's hope that Ritter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
