Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rocki Balboa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fig Gif!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa blocks a leg kick.
Balboa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gif pinned against the cage. Gif gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gif tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Balboa counters with a head kick. That will keep Gif thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Balboa fails with a takedown attempt.
Gif closes the distance but Balboa moves to the side
and Balboa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gif's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Balboa is standing up over Gif. Gif looks to escape but Balboa dives into side control.

Gif seems a little lost for a moment, as Balboa dominates the positioning.
Gif should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Balboa in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Balboa lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gif down.
Balboa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Balboa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Balboa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gif is fending him off so far but Balboa persists. Nope, Gif circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocki Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gif moves to clinch but Balboa breaks away
and Balboa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Balboa stops Gif from getting back to his feet.
Gif looks gassed!
Balboa lands with a punch from half guard.
Gif is looking to escape.

Balboa content to control rather than advance.
Balboa wants to work for an arm triangle but Gif is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gif keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Gif really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Balboa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gif has hold of Balboa's hands but Balboa slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Balboa lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Balboa is trying to control. Gif wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Balboa throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Balboa thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Balboa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Balboa is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gif is surviving well by controlling Balboa's body position as best he can.

Balboa is landing with some decent strikes but Gif is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Balboa cracks Gif with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
