Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norm Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates misses with a straight left.
Bates gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Evans counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bates closes the distance and clinches up with Evans, looking for a takedown. Bates pushes Evans against the cage but Evans circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bates shoots in looking for a takedown but Evans manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bates's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cody Evans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Norm Bates.

Norm Bates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Evans counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Bates moves to clinch but Evans breaks away
and Evans counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bates shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Evans pinned against the cage. Evans gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Evans catches Bates with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Oooooh!!! Evans has knocked Bates down with a huge combo! Evans steps away and waves a wobbly Bates back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Evans connects with a nice cross there... Bates is looking wobbly and Evans recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Bates to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Evans jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
