PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Dusiciel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Derksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derksen has chosen Pantera - I'm Broken as his entrance music. Gerald Derksen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mario Dusiciel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Gerald Derksen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dusiciel uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Derksen.
Dusiciel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Derksen was well out of range. Poor timing from Dusiciel.
Dusiciel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Derksen.
Dusiciel doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Derksen counters with a series of strikes. Dusiciel will be more careful next time no doubt.
Derksen throws a series of punches but Dusiciel moves out of range.
Derksen throws a predictable looking body shot

and Dusiciel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Derksen won't be happy with that.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Derksen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dusiciel's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mario Dusiciel just wasn't active enough.
Derksen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dusiciel closes the distance and clinches up with Derksen, looking for a takedown. Dusiciel pushes Derksen against the cage but Derksen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mario Dusiciel.
Derksen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dusiciel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Derksen feints a jab promting Dusiciel to slip. Derksen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dusiciel slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dusiciel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
