The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grande throws an overhand right that lands on Lefleur's shoulder, as Lefleur tries to avoid the shot.

Grande feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lefleur looking for a guillotine here but Grande defends easily.
Grande passes Lefleur's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Grande seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grande is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Grande is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lefleur has managed to free his arm - good work.

Grande is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lefleur really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grande. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lefleur wants to get back to full guard.

Grande is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lefleur sees it coming and defends easily.

Grande is working for a submission of some sort.
Grande wants to pass to mount but Lefleur is defending the position.

Grande is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Grande is trying to work for a kimura but Lefleur is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Grande works his foot free and advances to mount.
Lefleur is trying desperately to improve position.
Grande avoids the attempt from Lefleur to control.

Grande jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lefleur manages to avoid the submission attempt.
You can see the frustration on Lefleur's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Grande wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lefleur, who protects the arm well.
Grande advances to full mount.

Grande is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lefleur can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grande moves to take his opponent's back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Grande is cranking Lefleur's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Lefleur! He's tightened the choke and Lefleur is tapping out!
