Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Power misses.
Lee throws a head kick that misses.

and Power counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lee shoots for a takedown but Power saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Power stuns Lee with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Lee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Power avoids it really well and circles away.

James Power has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rock Lee.

Power has hold of one of Lee's legs. Lee is fighting the takedown attempt but Power gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Power wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Power's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Power stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Power postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Power throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Power works over Lee with some ground and pound from guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Power accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Power is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We're going to have a standup here because James Power wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lee avoids a punch combination nicely.
Power works the jab nicely.
Power misses with a few strikes there.
Lee walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Power scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lee in his tracks.

Oooooh!!! Power has knocked Lee down with a huge combo! Power steps away and waves a wobbly Lee back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Power moves into range and connects with a jab.
Lee wants to clinch but Power slips to the side
and Power counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Power scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Power lands a left and a right that send Lee crashing to the mat, dazed. Power thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Lee is rocked!
Power throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Lee's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Power dives in looking to finish as Lee flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Power's strikes! Power is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Lee's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Lee was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
