The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canzy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Silva counter with a right hand.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Canzy is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.

Canzy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silva defends well.

Canzy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.

Silva has his feet on Canzy's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Canzy clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
Silva keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Canzy's efforts to push away.
Canzy can't get the takedown.

Silva has Canzy pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Silva pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Canzy tumbling to the mat - Silva dives into Canzy's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Canzy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Silva gets tackled into the cage by Canzy. Canzy maintains the clinch.

Silva gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Canzy regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Canzy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Canzy won't be happy with that.

Canzy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Silva stands up from half guard.

Silva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Canzy was covering up waiting for the punch and Silva finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Canzy wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.

Canzy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Canzy is tightening it up a little... Silva has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Silva reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Silva taps out! nice BJJ there by Canzy!
