PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BB BangBang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, BB BangBang!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fails with the takedown
and BangBang counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gracie has his takedown stuffed
and BangBang counters with a nice uppercut.
BangBang rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
BangBang takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

BangBang shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gracie is trying to defend but BangBang finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gracie wants to improve his position but BangBang is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
BangBang looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Let's hope that BangBang has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie is looking to escape.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
BangBang with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

OK we're going to have a standup here. BB BangBang hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

BangBang closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gracie to the mat! Gracie manages to get full guard.
BangBang is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like BangBang might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is working an open guard so BangBang takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Gracie tries to sprawl but BangBang drives through with a takedown into half guard.
BangBang is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Gracie!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

BB BangBang dominated that round.

BangBang shoots in and bounces Gracie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. BangBang defends it easily.
BangBang is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gracie looking for a triangle here. BangBang is fighting it but it looks tight! Gracie pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, BangBang is tapping out - this one is all over!
