Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samoan Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reko De Souza Da Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Souza Da Lima is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Deekline and Wizard - All Your Love. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reko De Souza Da Lima!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe just misses with a punch to the body.
De Souza Da Lima fails with the takedown

and Joe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Joe stops De Souza Da Lima from standing up.
De Souza Da Lima can't keep his opponent in guard - Joe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Joe is trying to work for a kimura but De Souza Da Lima is defending well.
Joe content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Joe moves nicely into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Joe decides to stand up, so the ref orders De Souza Da Lima to his feet.

Joe clinches with his opponent.
De Souza Da Lima is trying to break the clinch but Joe is controlling him.
De Souza Da Lima tries to circle away but Joe has him pinned against the cage.
De Souza Da Lima wants to break the clinch but can't.
Joe tries to pull guard but De Souza Da Lima won't allow it.
Joe could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
De Souza Da Lima gets underhooks to prevent Joe's takedown attempt.
De Souza Da Lima can't break the clinch.
Joe drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samoan Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Joe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Joe darts in and clinches De Souza Da Lima up against the cage.
Joe fails to pull guard.

Joe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Joe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Joe closes the distance and clinches.
De Souza Da Lima is looking to break free of the clinch but Joe has double underhooks.
Joe is trying to drag De Souza Da Lima to the mat but De Souza Da Lima just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

De Souza Da Lima breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
De Souza Da Lima pivots, looking for a leg kick but Joe is out of range and De Souza Da Lima settles back down.

and Joe counters with a single leg into guard. De Souza Da Lima didn't expect that.
De Souza Da Lima looks gassed!
Joe seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
De Souza Da Lima is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Joe dives into side control.

Joe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. De Souza Da Lima knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Souza Da Lima is trying to buck Joe off.

Joe decides to stand up, so the ref orders De Souza Da Lima to his feet.
Joe cracks a nice hook into De Souza Da Lima's ribs.

Joe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. De Souza Da Lima was covering up waiting for the punch and Joe finishes the takedown easily into guard.
De Souza Da Lima really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Joe engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Joe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Joe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

De Souza Da Lima is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Joe is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Joe decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

De Souza Da Lima gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Joe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Joe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samoan Joe dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


De Souza Da Lima tries to close the distance and clinch but Joe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Joe has De Souza Da Lima up against the cage in a clinch.

De Souza Da Lima breaks from the clinch.
De Souza Da Lima throws a jab when Joe was well out of range.

Joe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. De Souza Da Lima quickly recovers to half guard.
Joe is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Joe breaks from De Souza Da Lima's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Joe is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. De Souza Da Lima can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Joe cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Joe cracks De Souza Da Lima with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

De Souza Da Lima tries to buck Joe off but he can't manage it.

De Souza Da Lima has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Joe has good solid back control here.

Joe working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but De Souza Da Lima is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Joe has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! De Souza Da Lima taps out!
