Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Przemek Karski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Przemek Karski is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Carter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Przemek Karski!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Karski napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Carter tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Karski is trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karski keeps working.
Karski is looking to regain half guard here but Carter keeps moving and retains side control.
Karski is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Carter asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Carter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Carter tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Carter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Karski knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carter is trying to get an arm triangle but Karski is defending well.

Carter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Karski, who protects the arm well.

Karski explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Karski connects with a jab.
Karski cracks Carter with an open hand slap.

Karski jumps into guard, dragging Carter to the mat.
Karski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Karski throws his legs up looking for a submission but Carter uses it to pass to side control.

Carter tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Karski is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Carter is breathing heavily.
Karski tries to roll over but Carter keeps him under control.
Karski is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carter moves into full mount! Karski won't be happy about that!

Carter swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Karski is now in Carter's guard. A big mistake from Carter there, giving up the dominant position!
Karski passes Carter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Karski escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Carter dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Carter lands a takedown into guard.
Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Karski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Karski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Carter, into his guard.
Karski passes easily into side control. Nice work.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Karski is trying to get an arm triangle but Carter is defending well.

Karski has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Karski drives through with a takedown into guard.
Karski would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Karski trying to move into half guard but instead Carter has managed to sweep!

Carter prevents Karski from getting back to his feet.

Karski has his foot on Carter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carter works his way back into a safe position though.
Rick Carter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Karski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Carter has gone for a leg lock! Karski slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carter's guard.

Karski seems to be working for a kimura but Carter defends the submission attempt.

Przemek Karski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Karski is looking to clinch but Carter is avoiding it.
Rick Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Carter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Karski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carter has Karski in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Karski is looking to advance position but Carter won't allow it.

Karski gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Carter tries to sprawl but Karski drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Karski tries to stand and escape but Carter is controlling the position.
Karski trying to mount his opponent but Carter defends it.
Karski is trying to control the action in half guard but Carter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Przemek Karski has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Przemek Karski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Karski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
