Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deiter Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riku Tiirismaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tiirismaa feints and as Myers raises his hands in defense, Tiirismaa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Myers is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tiirismaa defends well.

Tiirismaa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tiirismaa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Myers had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tiirismaa defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tiirismaa goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Myers has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tiirismaa but great work by Myers.

Myers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tiirismaa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Myers uses his free foot to push down on Tiirismaa's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tiirismaa.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Myers has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tiirismaa's face.

Myers stalks Tiirismaa and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tiirismaa's face. Tiirismaa staggers backwards, shaken.

Riku Tiirismaa's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Myers has his foot on Tiirismaa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tiirismaa works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close round but I would say that Deiter Myers will probably get the nod.
