The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akiyama changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Twat tries to avoid it but Akiyama manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Twat to the ground. Twat escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Akiyama is defended easily by Twat.
Yoshihiro Akiyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akiyama tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Twat swivels and escapes.
John Twat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshihiro Akiyama.
