PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kaiser Diesel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaiser Diesel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felipe Ko!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ko closes the distance but Diesel moves to the side
and Diesel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Diesel avoids it really well and circles away.
Ko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Diesel pinned against the cage. Diesel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Diesel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ko tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Diesel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Diesel counters by clinching up.

Diesel could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ko jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Diesel walks away with a smile on his face. Ko gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kaiser Diesel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Ko.

and Diesel counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Diesel.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diesel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
