Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rod Wallis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Venno Akker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akker has chosen Static-X - Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Venno Akker enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rod Wallis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Venno Akker!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akker throws a sloppy head kick and Wallis moves out of range easily.

Akker misses with a body kick.
Akker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wallis paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wallis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wallis trying to mount his opponent but Akker defends it.

Akker is trying to maintain the position but Wallis is very close to passing his half guard.
Wallis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wallis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Wallis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Wallis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Akker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Akker throws a head kick but Wallis moves out of range.

Akker throws a series of punches but Wallis moves out of range.
Wallis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Akker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Horrible takedown by Wallis or perhaps it was just good defense by Akker which made him look bad.
Akker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wallis checks a leg kick nicely.

Wallis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wallis lands in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Akker throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Akker is trying to control the position but Wallis postures up.
Akker keeping moving, preventing Wallis from controlling successfully.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Akker looks to land a left hand but Wallis moved out of range nicely.

Akker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wallis manages to avoid it.
Akker slips a jab from Wallis.
Akker misses with the combination.

Wallis scores with a takedown into Akker's guard.

Wallis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Akker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Wallis passes the guard and advances to mount!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Wallis has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Akker is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Wallis yanks on the arm and Akker is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Wallis.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rod Wallis!
