Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Billy NoMates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Houses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy NoMates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Houses!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Houses shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in NoMates's guard.
Houses looking to sit in guard and control but NoMates gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Houses pulls NoMates in close to prevent any damage.

NoMates drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Houses manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now NoMates has Houses in his guard.
Houses is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Houses looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Houses trying to control the position from guard on top but NoMates is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

NoMates looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

NoMates looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Houses wants to get up but he can't break NoMates's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
NoMates being controlled here, momentarily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dave Houses hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
NoMates scores with a sloppy right hand. Houses should have avoided that one.
Houses lands a leg kick that knocks NoMates off balance momentarily.

and Houses counters with a nice leg kick.

Houses thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Houses decides to stand up, so the ref orders NoMates to his feet.

and Houses counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for NoMates!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
NoMates gets back to half guard.
NoMates is breathing heavily.

Houses is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, NoMates has managed to free his arm - good work.
NoMates tries to get to full guard but Houses has control of the leg.
NoMates trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

NoMates tries to reverse the position but Houses maintains control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
BOOM! Houses connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Houses looking to control but NoMates is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Houses avoids the attempt from NoMates to control.
NoMates is in all sorts of trouble here.
NoMates is trying to reverse the position but instead Houses has taken his back - oops!
NoMates is really stuck here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
NoMates prevents Houses from getting a body triangle.
NoMates is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
NoMates is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Houses counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Billy NoMates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Houses darts in and clinches NoMates up against the cage.
Stalling in the clinch from Houses.

NoMates manages to break the clinch.
NoMates tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Houses swivels and escapes.
NoMates misses the body punch

and Houses counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Houses.
Houses fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Houses can't get the takedown.
Houses blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
NoMates is working Houses over against the cage.

NoMates decides to pull guard.
Houses wants to control from the top but NoMates keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

NoMates looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Houses trying to control the position from guard on top but NoMates is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dave Houses hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Houses shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says NoMates as he avoids it easily.
Billy NoMates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Houses.
Houses throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around NoMates's waist but NoMates gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Houses off to one side.

and Houses counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Houses tries to stall but NoMates uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Houses tried to land a shot to the body but connects with NoMates's elbow.
Houses lands an elbow that stopped NoMates in his tracks for a moment.
A frustrated look appears on Houses's face as he tries to break the clinch.
NoMates tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Houses just stands there and leans against the cage.
Houses prevents the takedown attempt.
Houses lands a nice knee to the body.
Houses jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as NoMates walks away with a smile on his face. Houses gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Billy NoMates is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Houses fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. NoMates sprawls well initially but Houses persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

NoMates looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Houses is controlling the pace.
Houses works his way into side control.
NoMates tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Houses presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Houses breaks from NoMates's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Houses looking for a guillotine from mount but NoMates is having none of it.
NoMates is desperately trying to improve his position but Houses has a good base and remains in mount.
A nice elbow there by Houses.

Houses in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Houses wants to control the pace but NoMates is squirming around nicely.

Houses postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. NoMates looks a forlorn figure.
Dave Houses has got the better of the ground game so far.
NoMates is trying to reverse the position but instead Houses has taken his back - oops!
Houses controlling well, preventing NoMates from escaping the position.

Houses is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. NoMates defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Houses tries to get the hooks in deep but NoMates pushed the leg off.
NoMates trying to get back to his feet but Houses is in full control for now.
Houses lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Houses.

Dave Houses showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Houses is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in NoMates's half guard.

NoMates tries to improve position but can't.
NoMates prevents Houses from improving position.

Houses is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. NoMates knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

NoMates jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Houses is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Houses and NoMates has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Houses wants to get back to his feet.

Houses wants to improve his position but NoMates is controlling well.

NoMates looking to pass the guard.
Billy NoMates has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Houses controls NoMates momentarily but NoMates frees himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Houses is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst NoMates is controlling him.
Dave Houses is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Houses is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dave Houses comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Houses has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
