Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tadashi Yamashita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Pablo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tadashi Yamashita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juan Pablo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamashita stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Yamashita swings away with a body shot that misses
and Pablo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pablo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yamashita fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pablo manages to avoid it.
Yamashita throws a poor cross that misses

and Pablo counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Pablo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Pablo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Yamashita to the mat! Yamashita manages to get full guard.
Yamashita pulls Pablo in to control the position.
Pablo trying to control the position from guard on top but Yamashita is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yamashita wants to sweep but no luck.

Pablo stands and steps away. Yamashita gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pablo clinches with his opponent.
Pablo using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Pablo stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Yamashita has Pablo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pablo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Yamashita has had enough of the clinch but Pablo keeps him there for the moment.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Pablo obliges.

Pablo pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yamashita throwing strikes but missing.
Yamashita throws and elbow that misses. Pablo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yamashita's guard. Nice move by Pablo!

Pablo gets to his feet - Yamashita follows without any prompting.

Yamashita throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Pablo moves into the clinch.

Pablo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pablo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Yamashita working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Yamashita postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pablo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yamashita, into his guard.

Yamashita can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pablo controls the pace.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pablo tries to clinch there but Yamashita circles away.

and Pablo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pablo.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Yamashita looks to land a right hand but Pablo moved out of range.
Yamashita lands a jab.
Yamashita connects with a nice looking jab.
Yamashita throws a right hand that misses

and Pablo moves into the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Pablo as the two fighters clinch.
Pablo is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

and Pablo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Yamashita drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pablo pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Pablo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Yamashita!

Yamashita is working hard here to advance position.
Pablo wants to control the action but instead Yamashita gets a body lock and reverses into Pablo's guard! Nice work!
Pablo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pablo is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Yamashita chips away with some ground and pound.

Pablo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Yamashita's head.

and Pablo counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Pablo wants to take a breather but Yamashita is having none of it.

Pablo decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juan Pablo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pablo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Pablo tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Yamashita avoids it.

Tadashi Yamashita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pablo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A jab lands there for Yamashita.

Yamashita misses with a wild body shot.
Pablo gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Yamashita lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

and Pablo counters with a nice kick to the body.

and Pablo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yamashita's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Juan Pablo wasn't active enough on the ground.
Yamashita leaves Pablo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Yamashita bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Yamashita shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pablo defends it nicely.
Yamashita swings for the body but Pablo moves out of range.

and Pablo counters with a single leg into guard. Yamashita didn't expect that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pablo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Pablo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pablo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Juan Pablo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Pablo wants to control from the top but Yamashita keeps moving.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Juan Pablo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Yamashita takes a swing at Pablo's ribcage but misses.
Yamashita swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Pablo counters with a shoot takedown. Yamashita fights it but they end up in guard.
Yamashita keeping moving, preventing Pablo from controlling successfully.

Pablo gets to his feet. Yamashita looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pablo fails with a takedown attempt.
Tadashi Yamashita has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Pablo.
Yamashita throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

And that's the end of the fight!
Juan Pablo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Pablo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
